Are prices like this typical? I went from looking for flathead Fords to V12 XJS’s, then these popped up in my search. The green one has a check engine light. I’ve never really looked for these, but man what a cool car for the money.
Ah hah.. Upon further investigation I realized the green machine has a flood title. Should have clicked the “read more” tab sooner. Still, are clean ones available in the 20's?

Flooded title and an auto? Probably why it’s that cheap. I saw some DB9s for 50-60k when I was shopping for them a few months ago.

Truth. I wonder how easy it would be to find one of the early supercharged straight 6 cars.

No idea, I would assume if they’re desirable they never got cheap. Probably like any 996 turbo, anyone you’d want never got bellow 45k.

Yeah, the purchase price is just the tip of the iceberg for cars in this category.

With them being based on the XJS platform, I wonder how many things interchange. If you can use Jaguar bushings, suspension components, ect, it might not be too bad as far as the chassis is concerned. I can’t speak for the drivetrain, but I wonder if this generation V12 is the ones based off the Ford Duratec v6. That could cut down cost if there’s any cross compatibility.
If I had $20-30k to spend an Aston wouldn’t make my list, however, it’s interesting that they’re getting down that low.

That is a much more Aston-preferred lighter shade of green than traditional British Racing Green, which is darker.
technically british teams used to race in european race series under various shades of green, as opposed to French blue, Italian red, German silver, Japanese white (sometimes with red details, similar to their flag), Scottish/Ecurie Ecosse flag blue with white stripes,
The US involvement was under white with blue stripes, but not much in the 50s, and by the 1960s when there was a little more participation, racing liveries became car specific, rather than national origin , sponsorship or team driven , and bolder, varied colors.
Since racing went to varied liveries, the traditional racing colors have kind of been a marketing thing on road cars, and more a mark of nostalgia, than actual livery.
I do love Aston’s misty green paint colors, though. I would consider painting or wrapping a car of my own that color, but it is almost too special and unique to wish that manufacturers would use it widely, and make it less unique.
Just bloody gorgeous, that is.

As bad as it would have to get for us to return there. Lack of corporate domination and a return to saner emblems would be nothing short of an invigorating and clean rebirth.

I think there was an old wheelers dealers episode. some stuff was ford/jag parts pin, then other random bits were eyewatering expensive.

Nationalist domination or Corporatist domination vary in the details, but both exist “ to put people under one rule to interfere with or ignore them equally” (see if anyone gets that quote...)
I just wonder what it would take to get PEOPLE back to the point where they take the right sort of pride in undertaking endeavors again, and put the effort and the qualities of doing a thing for it’s merits above tribal/nationalism, or above corporate advantage, marketing, and advertising... and both of those being extensions of leadership ego, be it heads of state, or corporate executives.
Ultimately, it is a hubris problem in human nature. The people with power are most afraid of losing that power, and are most motivated to accumulate more power, be it FIA, be it corporate sponsors, be it political leaders, or anyone with enough power to create a position of fear of losing that power.
Like power and money are almost interchangeable above a certain critical mass. The LOVE of money, and the power it buys, or the power that tends to accumulate wealth.
That avarice supercedes other people, values, morals, and pretty much everything else, and isn’t easily counterbalanced by a measure of selflessness and humility.

Hoovie has one like this he bought about a year ago. IIRC it was one of his cheaper to repair purchases.

I may have to check that out. Probably like a 90's Lotus with random big name OE parts strewn about unobtanium.
